Government's Biofuel Timetable Could Spell +15,900% Growth
+15,900% growth might seem far-fetched... but it's not. In fact, it
is mandated by law. And I've identified the ONLY stock positioned to
capture this growth.
The
Silver Lining to a Falling Dollar
Despite the U.S. national debt, there is a silver lining for income
investors. This massive spending, combined with movement out of U.S.
Treasuries, is going to take its toll on the dollar, and
international income investors could reap the rewards in the form of
higher dividends. |

| Sony
Looks Like a Compelling Value/Income Play |
Published: January 18, 2005
The world's leading consumer
electronics maker, Sony (SNE, $39.45) boasts a well-known brand in the
latest digital gadgetry, ranging from videogames to Walkman stereos,
laptops and cameras, among others. Sony's PlayStation 2 is the world's
most popular videogame console, with about 70% of the global market.
Consumer electronics account for some two-thirds of Sony's sales.
Meanwhile, the entertainment businesses -- think Epic and Columbia
recording studios -- contribute the balance. The stock is in the early
stages of a turnaround and its well-known brand name should help Sony
lead the charge in the fast-growing home-entertainment market.
Company earnings are expected
to surge an impressive +34% this year, rising by another +38% next year.
With a projected growth rate of +33% a year for the next five years, the
stock sports a very low PEG (P/E as a fraction of its five-year growth
rate) of less than 1.

Sony's recent partnership with
cable provider Comcast (CMCSA, $33.57) to supply video on demand will
allow the firm to promote new gaming products while also capitalizing on
its huge video library. And in a related market, Sony will soon be using
an innovative semiconductor chip in its next generation PS3 videogame
console, which will have music, video, and Internet capabilities. The
chip's performance could lead to its use in other products, giving Sony
a competitive edge in the marketplace.
The U.S. dollar's weakness
against the yen gives a nice boost to the stock's dividend payment,
which is based on Japanese currency. Although SNE currently pays an
annual dividend of just 24 cents a share, this payment has risen by +15%
a year for the past three years. With all of the above factors in mind,
value-oriented income investors may want to take a closer look at Sony
at current price levels.
