Government's Biofuel Timetable Could Spell +15,900% Growth
+15,900% growth might seem far-fetched... but it's not. In fact, it
is mandated by law. And I've identified the ONLY stock positioned to
capture this growth.
The
Silver Lining to a Falling Dollar
Despite the U.S. national debt, there is a silver lining for income
investors. This massive spending, combined with movement out of U.S.
Treasuries, is going to take its toll on the dollar, and
international income investors could reap the rewards in the form of
higher dividends. |

Homeland Security Dollars Fuel +17.6% Gains for this
High-Tech Contractor
Published: September 15, 2008
The
Commerce Department reported consumer spending went virtually
nowhere in the month of July, even with billions in tax stimulus
payments circulating through the economy. Even worse,
expenditures actually dipped lower on an inflation-adjusted
basis.
In other words, any small gain we're seeing on the spending
front isn't coming from higher consumption, it's coming from
rising prices. Happily, there is one spendthrift consumer we can
almost always count on for his large pocketbook and year-round
shopping spree. Uncle Sam.
The U.S. government will spend about $2.7 trillion this year. A
good chunk of that will go toward the Department of Homeland
Security, whose budget has ballooned in the past few years amid
growing need for trained personnel and sophisticated equipment
to keep our country safe. And with the government awarding
lucrative contracts left and right, you can bet a handful of
companies are reaping the rewards. In April,
Market Advisor editor Paul Tracy set out to
determine exactly who was cashing all those checks.
It was that search that turned up L-1 Identity Solutions
(NYSE: ID, $16.27), a maker of state-of-the-art biometric
identification systems used in sensitive areas such as airports,
government buildings and border-patrol facilities.
As Paul pointed out five months ago, L-1 had just bid on $750
million in contracts and was considered the frontrunner on many.
But even without new orders, the company already had a hefty
backlog of business. In fact, revenues were forecast to double
during the next couple of years, crossing the $1 billion mark by
2010. And with the company finally turning the corner to
profitability, Paul saw the stock as a "solid buy."
Since then, readers that climbed on board have seen the shares
jump from $13.83 to Friday's close of $16.27 -- a tidy gain of
+17.6% in less than six months. This as the S&P 500 has sank
roughly -10%.
In this month's issue, Paul zooms in on another company
benefiting from unwavering demand for its products. In fact,
it's the world's largest producer of a critical commodity that
spiked roughly +1,200% from 2001 through last year. And it's
easy to see what drove that surge in prices. Global annual
demand for this product has reached 177 million pounds, yet
producers around the world are only able to supply 110 million
pounds -- and the inventory stockpiles making up the difference
are dwindling fast.
